Both leagues have eight teams, but the BBL is played in the Australian summer from December to February and the PSL from March to May. The BBL plays 40 regular-season matches and four finals, and the PSL played 40 league matches and four playoff matches in 2026. The BBL has used a draft for its international players, while the PSL used a draft until 2025 and an auction for PSL 11.

The source also cites 61 total BBL matches in one place, which does not match the 40-plus-four figure, so we use the regular-season and finals counts. The 2025-26 BBL cap is not given in the source.
How do the two leagues recruit players?
The BBL requires each team to sign at least two international players through a draft, lets teams pre-sign one international player before it, and allows up to two marquee players outside the cap. The PSL moved to an auction in 2026 with a PKR 45 crore purse, retention of up to four players and one direct overseas signing outside the purse. The PSL auction rules guide explains each step.
Where is each league shown?
In Australia, Seven Network shows 45 BBL matches including the finals, and Fox Cricket shows all of them. For PSL 11, matches were shown in Pakistan on PTV, A Sports, Geo Super and Ten Sports, with streaming on Tapmad, Tamasha and Myco; see the sponsors and broadcasters page.
What about prize money and crowds?
The BBL prize money in our source dates from 2016, when the champion received A$450,000 and the runner-up A$260,000, so it is not comparable with the PSL’s US$500,000 for the 2026 champion. The BBL final drew 55,018 people at Perth Stadium; the PSL final drew 32,461 at Gaddafi Stadium, which holds 34,000. See the PSL prize money page and comparison hub.
