The three franchises that entered or changed hands for the 2026 season pay about 70 percent of the combined fees, while the five original owners pay less than a third. Franchise pages: all PSL teams.
How big is the gap between the highest and lowest fees?
Rawalpindiz pay PKR 245 crore a year, more than seven times the PKR 34 crore paid by Quetta Gladiators. The gap may reflect when each franchise was sold: the five original franchises were sold in December 2015 on 10-year terms, while the newer fees were set in later sales and in the 2026 expansion. The figures are annual fees, not purchase prices, and they are not directly comparable with the 2015 total of US$93 million over 10 years.
How were the original franchises sold?
In December 2015 the five original franchises were sold for a combined US$93 million over 10 years. The sixth franchise, Multan, was bought in 2017 for US$5.2 million a year. The 2026 expansion to eight teams added Hyderabad Kingsmen and Rawalpindiz, and the older Multan franchise was rebranded or relocated; see the lineage note below.
Where do the sources disagree?
Wikipedia’s franchise pages conflict on whether Rawalpindiz continues the earlier Multan Sultans franchise and whether the current Multan Sultans continue the former Sialkot Stallionz, so we show each owner against the current franchise name only. The Hyderabad owner is written as FKS Group in the table and FSK in the text. Walee Technologies, owner of Rawalpindiz, is also the company that won the 2026 to 2029 media rights, which we explain on the sponsors and broadcasters page.
What is unconfirmed?
We have not confirmed the fee for each franchise from PCB documents, and the fee for Hyderabad Kingsmen rests on one source. No change of owner for PSL 12 has been announced in the sources we checked. Read about the auction and purse on the salary and purse page.
