PSL 11 Venues and Schedule Changes

PSL 11 was announced with six venues in six cities but was played at two. On 22 March 2026, four days before the opening match, the PCB cut the schedule to Lahore and Karachi, citing national austerity and resource conservation measures, with 22 of the 44 matches in each city. The dates, 26 March to 3 May 2026, did not change.

What was the original PSL 11 plan?

The original schedule used six venues: Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad, Imran Khan Cricket Stadium in Peshawar, National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi and Multan Cricket Stadium. It had 44 matches and 12 double-headers, with Faisalabad and Peshawar due to host PSL matches for the first time. Lahore was to stage 15 matches including the opening match and the final, with 4 May as a reserve day.

The PCB said that cutting venues would limit travel, logistics and utility demands, easing pressure on energy resources. The opening fixture, Hyderabad Kingsmen v Lahore Qalandars, went ahead as planned.

Which teams lost their home matches?

Multan Sultans had four matches planned at Multan Cricket Stadium, all featuring the home team, and Peshawar Zalmi had a home fixture planned in Peshawar from 28 March. Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, the home ground of Rawalpindiz, had 11 matches planned, including a qualifier. After the revision none of these grounds hosted a PSL 11 match, so all eight franchises played in either Lahore or Karachi.

Why does this matter for PSL 12?

PSL 11 shows that a published venue list can change days before the first ball. The PCB has confirmed that PSL 12 starts on 18 March 2027 but has not named its venues, so any list of 2027 host cities should be treated as unconfirmed until the PCB publishes one. Our PSL schedule page records each confirmed date with its source.

Were other matches affected?

One match was reduced to 13 overs per side because of rain, according to the tournament’s Wikipedia page, and the same page says spectators were barred from league matches and admitted for the playoffs. We could not confirm the second point from a second source. For the stadium details see the venues hub, and for PSL 12 see the PSL 12 page, where the 2027 venues are still unannounced.
