In PSL 11, each franchise had a standard salary purse of Rs 45 crore, rising to Rs 50.5 crore if it used a direct signing for a foreign player who had not played in a previous season. Local players are grouped into Platinum, Diamond, Gold, Silver and Emerging categories, and each team could retain up to four players, one per category. The PSL 12 purse has not been announced.

How did the first PSL auction work?
The first PSL player auction was held in Lahore on 11 February 2026; before that, players were chosen by draft from 2016. Some 888 players registered across four base prices. Reports name Naseem Shah, signed by Rawalpindiz for Rs 8.65 crore, as the most expensive player, though one cited headline says Steve Smith topped the auction, so we treat the top price as awaiting a check. What is unconfirmed for PSL 12?
