Methodology and Data Sources

This page explains where the numbers on PSL Match Schedule come from and how we check them. The aim is that any date or figure on the site can be traced to a named source.

Source order

  • First choice: the PCB and the official PSL website, including press releases such as the PCB announcement of 8 October 2026.
  • Second: official franchise announcements.
  • Third: established news outlets reporting an official announcement, for example Samaa and Geo. We prefer two outlets agreeing before we treat an item as confirmed.
  • Reference tables: for past seasons we may use a public reference such as Wikipedia while we check the figures against primary sources. Those items are marked for review until verified.

Status labels

LabelMeaning
ConfirmedAnnounced by the PCB or league, or reported consistently by more than one established outlet.
Partly confirmedSome detail announced, other detail missing, for example the number of venues but not their names.
PendingThe organiser has said the item will be set later.
Not announcedNo announcement found at the date of the last check.

Calculated figures

Some numbers on the site are calculated from confirmed dates, such as the number of days in a tournament window or the gap between an auction and the first match. We show the inputs so you can repeat the calculation. A calculated figure is not a PCB statement, and we label it that way.

Projections

We do not publish match-by-match fixtures, venues or start times until an official source releases them. Where we compare with an earlier season, we say it is a comparison and not a forecast.

Last-checked dates

Each page states the date we last checked its facts against sources. That date changes only after we have actually rechecked. Read how corrections work in our editorial policy.
