How is PSL 12 different from PSL 11?
PSL 12 keeps the eight-team format and the 44-match count that PSL 11 used in 2026, but the window is longer: 46 days against 39. The auction is 54 days before the first match, against 43 days in 2026. PSL 11 ran from 26 March to 3 May 2026.
Which teams will play?
All eight franchises from PSL 11 return. Peshawar Zalmi are the defending champions after beating Hyderabad Kingsmen by five wickets in the 2026 final. Squads and captains for PSL 12 have not been announced.
What happens before the season?
- 23 October to 23 November 2026: each franchise can sign one marquee player directly, provided the player did not feature in PSL 10 or PSL 11.
- To be set: retention deadline, trade window, auction rules and playing conditions, after a franchise workshop.
- 23 January 2027: player auction.
- 18 March 2027: first day of the tournament.
