The PSL auction purse calculator tests a squad plan against the PSL 11 auction limits: a 45 crore rupee purse, base prices of 4.2, 2.2, 1.1 and 0.6 crore, and a squad of 16 to 20 players. Enter how many players you sign in each base-price category and any extra spent above base price, and it shows the purse left and whether you can still fill the squad. The PCB has not confirmed these limits for PSL 12.

|---|---|---|

Source: Wisden. The PCB has confirmed 23 January 2027 for the PSL 12 auction but has not said whether these limits carry over, so treat every result as a PSL 11 calculation.
How does the calculator work?
It multiplies the number of players in each category by that category's base price and adds the extra amount you enter, which stands for the premium paid above base price in the bidding. The total is taken from the 45 crore purse. It then checks how many players you still need to reach the minimum squad of 16, and reserves 0.6 crore for each of them, because no player can cost less than the lowest base price. What is left after that reserve is the amount you could still spend above base prices.
The assumption is that every player costs at least his category's base price. We have not confirmed how direct signings are charged against the purse, so the calculator treats every player as bought in the auction.
Worked example
The plan below is illustrative, not any franchise's real squad, and matches the default values in the calculator.
| Category | Players | Base price (crore) | Cost at base (crore) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Top | 2 | 4.2 | 8.4 |
| Second | 4 | 2.2 | 8.8 |
| Third | 5 | 1.1 | 5.5 |
| Lowest | 5 | 0.6 | 3.0 |
| Total | 16 | 25.7 |
The 16 players cost 25.7 crore at base price, which leaves 19.3 crore of the 45 crore purse to spend as premium on the players that bidding pushes above their base. Across all eight franchises the PSL 11 purses came to 360 crore in total.
What does it leave out?
It does not model the limits on overseas players, which were 5 to 7 in the squad and 3 to 4 in the playing eleven for PSL 11, or the rule on under-23 uncapped players. It does not know which players were sold or for how much. For how those rules work, read the auction rules guide, and for the next auction see PSL 12 auction.
