What happened in PSL 2?
The five franchises from the first season returned, and the format was unchanged: a double round robin of eight league matches per team, followed by playoffs for the top four. Group matches were played in Dubai and Sharjah. The playoff matches before the final were also in the UAE, with the qualifier and the first eliminator in Sharjah and the second eliminator in Dubai. The decision-review system was used in the playoffs. Attendance across the 24 matches was 219,876, about 9,160 a match.
Why was the PSL 2 final special?
The final was the first PSL match played in Pakistan, and the first high-profile match in the country since the 2009 attack on the Sri Lankan team. Hosting it in Lahore was described as controversial because of a series of bombings in the preceding weeks. The PSL 2 final page covers the arrangements and the scorecard.
